ABOUT US
Mountain West Energy was founded with the primary purpose of making a significant, positive impact on the United States and world economies by unlocking the vast resources of unconventional oil, originally targeting the immense oil shale resources. Mountain West then recognized that its IVE technology can be profitably used to produce heavy oil and depleted conventional oil from difficult reservoirs.
Mountain West Energy LLC is based in Highland, Utah and was founded by Kevin Shurtleff in 2005. As a serial entrepreneur and gifted PhD chemist, Kevin has started multiple successful high tech businesses such as Trulite and Synexus (hydrogen fuel cells).
